You are here: Emma's birth story
There was a risk with my second that he could have been born early. My eldest had been born at 32+4 at 4lb 4 so the risk was there.
My pregnancy with my second was going well, towards the 32 week mark we did get anxious, remembering what had happened last time. Ironically at 32 + 5 I started to feel some familiar pains, they continued until the next day so i went into hospital. The hospital were unable to detect any signs of labour so sent me home to rest.
At 33 weeks on the dot I lay in the bath home alone and delivered my little boy. I was joined by paramedics shortly afterwards who proceeded to take us to hospital. He weighed 4lb 4 and was in hospital for 2 weeks and 1 day. With what could have gone wrong, I'm so thankful to everyone who help both of us. The neonatal nurses are amazing!
